Conor Harrington is an Irish-born street artist known for his large-scale artworks that blend contemporary and historical references to tackle socio-political themes.
Conor Harrington paintings and limited edition prints mix renaissance influences with graffiti inspired strokes to create dreamlike scenes. His complex compositions are all executed with an Old Master's touch, juxtaposing bold line work, superb shading and bursts of colour with softer images of the human form. Shrouded in the ethereal and the real, the past and the present, Harrington's positioning of the human figure is used to highlight the importance of everyday events in contemporary society. This socio-political focus is present in both his street art and his gallery work.
Harringtonââ¬â¢s 2013, A Whole Lot of Trouble for a Little Bit of Win, was concerned with the transition of power from the West to new superpowers in the East.
