Corinne Felgate makes works that attempt to rewrite the world in both modest and ambitious ways, often with wry humor. Nearly always site or context-specific, the installations and sculptures are both cerebral and emotional and ultimately attempt to explore, test and mock what it is to exist in the world today in the legacy of our many cultural, industrial and political histories. Felgate uses a myriad of materials, processes and techniques to create sculptures and installations that examine our relationship to luxury, power, failure, sexuality and industry through the exploration of everyday objects.
Felgate's work has been commissioned by ArtsAdmin, The National Gallery, London and The British Ceramics Biennial and has been exhibited at institutions including Tate Modern, London, Palazzo Grassi, Italy and Inhotim, Brazil, and is held in collections worldwide.
