Jake Messing was born in northern California in 1982 . He moved to New York in 2002 and graduated from Parsons School of Design (class of 2006). He has since received several awards for his work, including the London International Creative Competition. He has been invited to multiple International residencies including Camac Centre d' Arte (Paris, Fance) and the Banff Center (BC, Canada). He presently teaches at New York University Tisch graduate department. The artist resides and works in Brooklyn.
