Choosing to follow his innate spirit over a career in law or medicine, Solomon enrolled at the College for Creative Studies in Midtown to pursue an illustration degree. As he toiled at his classwork, he augmented his formal-education painting in a less structured environment as well.
âI got a two-sided education. I got the Midtown life, but I was also hanging out over by city airport and over at Fenkell and Dexter,â Solomon says. It was really important ⦠that I pursued the graffiti thing at the same time that I was doing the illustration classes. If I hadnât done both, I donât know what Iâd be doing right now.â - Kobie Solomon
