Mario Wagner was born in Germany in 1974. His collage art employs imagery taken from the post-war silver age of science fiction, using the grand themes of that era to relay timeless feelings of both optimism and dread, celestial ambition and grubby survival. His poignant and atmospheric work has been used by a number of blue chip brands including Stussy, Adidas, Salomon skiwear and Absolut Vodka, plus many publications including Technology Review, Wired, and the Wall Street Journal.
In summer 2013 Mario will take part in the Victoria and Albert museums ambitious science fiction-themed exhibition Memory Palace. He is currently based in Berkley, California.
