Mica Still grew up in a small coastal town in Oregon, USA where the art scene was dominated politely by fishing boats and seaside watercolours. This is a far cry from her current practice exhibiting her bold and raunchy works extensively in Australia and New Zealand, and collaborating with every notable street artist in Wellington. Micas work, with its radiant colour and optical punch, howling tigers, wolves and naughty bits is alive and daring, yet refreshingly sensitive. The jolt of her work appears to contrast with Micas trademark gentle demeanour yet this artists vivid, deep-sea calm gives her fearless and provocative work its rich luminescence.
