A Swedish graffiti pioneer, Nug first entered the public consciousness in the early 1980s painting the trains of the Stockholm transit system with the "Vandals in Motion" crew. Nug studied at the art college Konstfack where he earned a Master of Arts degree in 2008. His degree project, "Territorial Pissing", caused a national outrage and lead to calls for his degree to be revoked and for criminal charges to be pressed against him, neither of which were successful.
Nug's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums world wide and is considered to be an important component of the "post-graffiti" movement.
