Robin F. Williamsââ¬â¢s beguiling portraits position monumental female figures in situations both otherworldly and mundane. Her subjects alternately frolic in forests, pose naked in domestic settings, and sip from giant cups. The Brooklyn-based artist values material invention: Her work spans oil, acrylics, colored pencil, and pastels, and her brushwork ranges from rough, stucco-like layers to thin, airbrushed veneers. Williams graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and has exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Copenhagen, and Chicago. Her work belongs to multiple collections, including the Beth Rudin DeWoody Collection, the Brooklyn Museum, the CC Foundation in Shanghai, and the X Museum in Beijing.
