Ltd. was founded by Vera List, Portia Harcus, and Barbara Krakow. Inspired by the success of the List Art Poster Program, H.K.L. Ltd. was created to extend this service to other nonprofit cultural institutions. It operated from about 1968 to 1971. According to the publisher, Merton of the Movies may have been one of the first posters published by H.K.L., Ltd.
