Born in 1984 in Los Angeles, CA, Becky Kolsrud has done solo shows with JTT and Tifâs Desk at Thomas Solomon Gallery. She has also exhibited work at Karma and Luxembourg & Dayan. Her second New York solo exhibition opens at JTT in May 2014. She graduated with a BS from New York University in 2006 and an MFA in painting from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2012. Kolsrud says her work âdeals with non-verbal communication between women. I create characters to tell strange and equivocal stories, inspired by personal experience and an interest in the history of portraiture.â The artist lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
