My name is Femke Hiemstra. I'm an artist and I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In my work I anthropomorphize animals and nature and let them roam in a dark, fairytale like world, together with all sorts of characters and inanimates. I paint with acrylics on old surfaces like antique panels or books and therefore spend much time treasure hunting on flea- and antique markets.
