In 2019, Hayden's print, 'Eat, Sleep, Pollute, Repeat' was the best-selling artwork out of approximately 700 works selected and exhibited at the RA (Royal Academy)'s Summer Exhibition. Impressively, it was also bought by the RA's Director, Axel Rüger. Both the esteemed photographer Rankin and Turner Prize nominee and provocateur, Jake Chapman are avid collectors of the artist's work, with Rankin citing Hayden's art as "1950s Pop Art meets the YBAs." So impressed by his work, Rankin invited Hayden to guest edit the Arts & Culture section of an edition of Hunger (the online magazine founded by Rankin).
Hayden's work is characterised by bold imagery many of us are familiar with, often drawn from popular culture and art history. It is the artist's commitment to shining an often piercing light on the dark side of consumerism, capitalism and first world preoccupations - amidst acerbic word-play and deadpan humour - which makes his work so popular.
Testament to this are the many sales of unique original works and sold-out print editions, since Hayden became a practicing artist little over a decade ago. He has exhibited at Saatchi Gallery during Frieze London, alongside celebrated artists such as Damien Hirst and Yinka Shonibare, MBE. His work is collected widely on a global scale and at auction, his artwork has sold up to ã15,000.
