Jason Seife is a Miami based artist who's work involves the process of merging and reinventing his favorite eras in Art History. Referencing some of his favorite baroque paintings and making them new again through mediums and techniques that were not yet discovered or utilized in the 16th century. He exposes the contrasts of Realism and Impressionism by merging tightly rendered images with impasto strokes and textures. Sometimes exposing the under painting through the peeling of layers in his work, showing not only a "Finished Product" but the process in which a painting comes to life. He believes, like all humans, a body of work has more to it than what is shown on its outer layer. He aims to expose that as opposed to hiding it.
