Shohei Takasaki, born in Japan, currently lives and works in Portland, Oregon. Self-taught in painting, Takasaki works on canvas and paper in both abstraction and figuration. Takasaki explores the unknown, bringing dense forms into motion to reflect a better understanding of his own consciousness. Shohei's use of color, texture and movement display his powerful and freestyle approach to painting.
